JetBlue is celebrating its 10th anniversary by getting a new look. The airline asked employees to contribute designs for the tail of its airplanes, and now 5 designs have made the cut.

So for a bit of fun, and to have your opinion heard on a new look for JetBlue, you can vote for your favorite finalist.

You have until January 29 to vote for a new JetBlue tail.

What's being called an alleged attempted terrorist attack on board a Northwest Airlines flight has been foiled. The flight was beginning its descent into Detroit Metropolitan Airport on December 25, 2009 when the would-be bomber set off an explosive device. It appears that fast acting passengers and inflight crew quickly subdued the passenger and extinguished the fire from the explosive.

The Northwest Airlines flight originated in Amsterdam, destined for Detroit.

From Delta - "Upon approach to Detroit, a passenger caused a disturbance onboard Northwest Airlines Flight 253. The passenger was subdued immediately and the crew requested that law enforcement meet the flight upon arrival. The flight, operated by Northwest using an Airbus 330-300 aircraft with 278 passengers onboard, landed safely. The passenger was taken into custody and questioned by law enforcement authorities. Delta is cooperating fully with authorities and additional questions should be directed to law enforcement officials who are leading the investigation."

What this means for you as a passenger is potentially increased security measures at airports across the United States, and in several other countries as well. Prepare for some delays - allow for some extra time for airport screening.

Passengers are also being advised to bring one piece of carry-on luggage if possible.
