Airlines grounded

Nigeria has had a huge share of the accidents in aviation this year. After 2 recent crashes, one which killed everyone on board, the president of Nigeria has decided to suspend the services of two Nigerian airlines, and has decided to try to overhaul a country's airline industry that has been plagued with corruption and questionable safety standards.
It certainly is unusual for a country's leader to literally shut down several airlines, but given the frustration that must come with inadequate runways, poorly maintained aircraft, and suspect airline practices, it is not entirely surprising that things came down to this.
