Air rage leads to an unscheduled stop
Tuesday January 3, 2006
Here is a way to deal with air rage - strand the passenger on an isolated isle, and keep on flying. This pretty much sums up a recent flight on the UK carrier, Monarch Airlines.
A passenger was drunk and unruly on a flight headed for the Canary Islands, when the pilot decided enough was enough and diverted the plane to a small island. The sparsely populated island where the plane dropped off the passenger, bags in tow, meant that the offending passenger had to take a ferry to the nearest island airport.
The airline is contemplating whether to take further action against the passenger for the cost of diverting the flight. The CBC news reports on the flight diverted because of a passenger
