Cell phones aren't safe for flights
Saturday March 4, 2006
A recent study seems to indicate that cell phones may interfere with aircraft navigation systems even more than was ever previously thought.
Some have claimed in the past that a ban on cell phone use in flight was simply a way for airlines to control the noise in the air - keep loud talking cell phone users from disrupting other passengers. Or that it was a way to get passengers to use the more expensive phones that are available for use on certain aircraft. But if the study is true it could truly be argued that cell phones are banned for safety reasons
