Buh-bye lunch, dinner

It has not gone unnoticed - the drop in inflight meal service, the lack of amenities now available in coach. Hot meal service, domestically anyhow, has become something that seems to have existed somewhere in the past.

Keeping airfares competitive has meant less meals, and more pay for your snacks and food. And now, several airlines have started to completely remove the galleys where food is normally prepared for inflight service. This lightens the load, and creates room to put in a few more seats.
