Saving money for flights within Europe

From Arlene Fleming, About.com GuideApril 9, 2006

One of the ways that I save money when traveling to Europe is by using a major airline to a large European city such as London, Frankfurt or Paris, and then purchasing a flight within Europe on a low-cost airline.

The prices to cities such as Athens, or Malaga can often hike up the airfare, so the low cost option for a short flight can mean being able to stay and visit the gateway city, and then continue on. It isn't for everyone, but if you want an extra stop-over and don't want to pay a lot for it, this strategy can work well.

In the spirit of this, Virgin Express (based in Brussels) is having a 12 hour sale from 10am-10pm (4am-4pm EDT)on April 10th to celebrate its 10th anniversary, which you can book online.

Plus I have listed dozens of low cost airlines for Europe all in one spot, saving you valuable search time!

You won’t save much, and the hassle is really not worth it. Not a lot you can see in several hours or a day.
I personally plan my connection no more than 2 hours away from each other. Having good search engine helps a lot in planning. Recommend cites such as http://www.lessno.com or maybe Expedia.

You ‘ll save huge sums of money if you know how…The trick is to buy your tickets when the airlines have promotional deals : I fly on average at 30 EUR (one way, tax included)…
And sometimes it’s a bit more expensive :
I was in Istanbul lately from Germany from 35.87 EUR ( : one way from Cologne) and I returned to Holland for 47.97 EUR (with to Eindhoven)
And a correction : most flights formerly done by AirServicePlus, are now executed by a new company :
