Tuberculosis and Air Travel

Friday July 14, 2006
It has been a few years now, but there was a time when a small outbreak of tuberculosis meant that several hundreds of airline workers would be tested for TB. At airports, and on flights there are often illnesses and diseases that rarely pop up anywhere else with the exception of hospitals.

And sometimes it is just that easy to start an outbreak - one infected person, confined quarters for several hours - factors that can serve as perfect breeding grounds for illnesses or infectious diseases.

It thus seems timely that About's Guide to Lung Diseases is hosting a free webinar on Tuberculosis and Air Travel. She also has a huge number of links and features on tuberculosis.
