Get There by Air - Machu Picchu

Out of the wilderness, up amongst the clouds lies Machu Picchu. Often called "the Lost City of the Incas", this stunning place can often be masked by cloud formations, and continually look different depending on the light that is cast on it from the sky. This mysterious place in the interior of Peru has been named as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Although there is a small airport in Cusco, flights often cancel or are delayed thanks to poor weather conditions, which is why I have included the information for a rather distant airport - Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru.
