August is a very busy month for air travel, so the specials you tend to see emerging at this time of year are for the fall, and the odd one that stretches into the winter season.
The Star Alliance network of over a dozen airlines is marking its 10th anniversary with a 10% discount on round the world airfares. There are a lot of different options, so it will take a fair bit of time to read, but with a lot of different choices of destinations, fare levels, and flexibility, it could be the way to see the world.
Cheapflights.com pointed me towards a fall sale on JetBlue. It ends August 8, and sample airfares include $59 New York - Orlando.
Silverjet is a newer business class-only airline that flies between New York and London. They currently have a special that includes business class airfare, tickets to a Rolling Stones concert, and a pre-concert cocktail party for $2499. For those who want to splash out without the usual business class airfare.
