Making a Bid to Fly on the A380 - October Flight

Saturday August 25, 2007
Singapore Airlines is the first airline scheduled to fly the Airbus A380. This new class of super-sized aircraft is set to hit the skies sometime in October. With the A380, it is so large that only a few runways in the world are truly capable of handling it. The testing is complete, and now the first of the A380 line is just about set to jet.

Singapore Airlines is doing something pretty unique to launch this airplane. Potential first passengers will be able to bid in an online auction (Ebay) for a chance to fly on the A380's first scheduled flight. And, the proceeds from this first flight are being given to charity.

Read about the debut of the A380 which includes a link to register for the info on when the first flight will occur as well as the auction: The A380 Debuts with Singapore Airlines - Proceeds Going to Charity.

The A380 is set to be delivered in October, and the first flight is scheduled for October 25. The auction begins on August 27 for your chance to be a passenger on the first commercial flight of the A380.
