A Flight to Nowhere

Saturday November 10, 2007
Presumably, when you board a flight you expect it to take-off and go somewhere. This is not the case for Gupta Air. One enterprising former Indian Airlines employee bought himself a used up Airbus missing some of the requisite parts for it to fly, and is instead offering the inflight experience without ever leaving the ground.

For about $4, "passengers" can board their Gupta Air flight and experience meals and drinks served from service carts, and hear safety announcements. The plane itself has landed in a suburb of Delhi, so wannabe flyers, or the curious can experience some of the pleasures (tongue is firmly in cheek) of flying without the jet leg.

The Australian describes the ground-breaking flight experience on Gupta Air.
