Changes at Continental Airlines

Saturday July 26, 2008
Continental Airlines has been one of the most vocal airlines in opposing the idea of a merger as an option. Instead, it has looked to focus on building stronger alliances in order to weather the fuel-fury storm. As a result, it is looking to break away from its current alliance, and hook up with the biggest global alliance in the airline world - Star Alliance.

So now Continental is seeking to join Star Alliance, and also drawing up a codeshare agreement with Air Canada (one of Star Alliance's many partner airlines) to put itself in a more competitive and stable position in the air travel industry.

It will become more difficult every time to make a profit but strangely enough the travelling by air is growing this year again in Holland allthough oil becomes more expensive. www.zoekjelastminute.nl

How long can Continental stay in business? If their negligent employees abuse First-class passengers like Victoria Osteen, how much worse do they treat us peasants who fly Coach. Excuse me, used to fly coach. I will now go to great extremes to avoid flying Continental.

I am very disappointed that you are stopping your flights in and out of White Plains. I know many people this will affect. I didn’t like the fact that a while ago you started using those prop planes instead of jets. What was that all about! I thought prop planes went out with WWII. I guess what I am trying to say is that I probably will now have to look into another airline in place of Continental. I am sad to say you are losing a family of flyers. Carol
