Airfare Specials this Week

I have to say, I really enjoy the Farecast site. They give you an idea of historical fares, and whether you should buy, speculating on whether airfares will stay the same or go up or down. One of the really decent specials is a roundtrip New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX) for $219 including taxes on Delta. Requires a 14 day advance purchase. I used sample dates of August 27 and September 3 to find that fare. It came back with the tip to buy and that this was the 71 day low in terms of price of the ticket.

United Airlines is currently running an airfare sale for the fall travel season. It has pretty much all of its routes on sale, and travel dates continue into mid-November or December depending on destination. But this one ends on Friday, August 8. For the International Fall Sale sample one way airfares (before taxes) include: San Francisco - Beijing for $426. The US-Canada Fall Sale has sample one way airfares such as: Philadelphia - Calgary for $190.

Air Canada has Your World - On Sale until August 8, 12 or 14 depending on destination for fall travel dates. For passengers originating out of Canada, sample one way airfares include: $119 for Halifax - Toronto and $277 for Ottawa - Frankfurt. For passengers originating out of the US, the sale has a different title and must be booked by August 13 - Toronto presents your gateway to the world. Sample one way airfares before taxes include: Rochester - Paris from $350.
