Obama's Flight Emergency

Monday August 18, 2008
In early July, the airplane being used for Barack Obama's campaign trail was diverted to St Louis, after taking off from Chicago. At the time, it was insisted that there was no emergency, that no one was ever in danger, and that there were no mechanical issues.

Well, it seems that wasn't the real story. ABC News is one of the media outlets that obtained the audio tapes confirming that it was indeed an emergency situation on board. After dropping altitude it appears that control of the aircraft was indeed regained.

FAA Tapes Reveal Drama of Obama Jet Incident from ABC News provides an interesting overview of the July emergency from start to finish.
