Thai Airports Open for Business
Friday December 5, 2008
Finally - the extended closing of Bangkok's main international and domestic airports has ended. Looks like business is set to slowly return to normal.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand states: "The Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand is set to resume ingoing and outgoing commercial flights... December 5, after the peaceful resolution of protests there this week."
Regardless of the re-opening, literally hundreds of thousands of tourists were stranded when they couldn't make their way out of Bangkok. Bangkok is not only a major Southeast Asian center, but is a hub for flights in that part of the world.
It is a good idea to check with your airline if you have imminent travel to / from / or through Bangkok in the coming days.

Just when the world thought Thailand had run out of feet to shoot, this: “Police order number 778/2551 is today confirmed by Royal Thai Police, Immigration Bureau, in Bangkok…Effective immediately, travelers without visa will get only 15 days of stay if they are arriving via a land border checkpoint from a neighboring country. ” Was 30 days…
That certainly could impact travels through SE Asia. Thanks for sharing the unfortunate news.
