Continental Airlines Accident in Denver

Sunday December 21, 2008
The cause of the accident is under investigation, but fire overtook most of the right side of the aircraft on a flight that was set to leave Denver for Houston on Saturday. I've linked to the press release from Continental Airlines. From the release - "Relatives and friends of those traveling on flight 1404 who want to give or receive information about those on board may telephone Continental at (800) 621-3263 or go to our Web site at continental.com."

After reading about the incident, it seems quite incredible that no one died, that all passengers and crew were able to escape the aircraft.

A brief article that outlines the incident concurs with the headline - Firefighter says it's a 'miracle' no one died in Denver burning jet. During a very busy air travel season, one hopes that this is very much an isolated incident.

I had a terrible experience with Continental Express Jet Airlines.
FLIGHT 3009 Oct 12, 2008 Newark NJ to
Milwaukee.
I thought I was going to DIE !!!!!!
The flight attent was FREAKING OUT.
We had to make a emergency landing after
circling the skies of Newark NJ. The
hydralics and cenors were heating up.
ALSO, the brakes….were bad.
Everyone was crying…two children 3 and 6 yrs old were screaming.
After we did make a safe landing back to NJ airport…the second plane we were on never left the runway….SAME thing!!
At least the pilot was smart not to take off. I sat in Newark NJ airport..from 4:30am till 7pm. Finally the third plane flew me back to Milwaukee Wi. Continetal sent me a check towards another ticket for $125.
I do not THINK they should be playing with people and Family’s lifes!!!
I am STILL UPSET!!!!!!!!!

(2) Continental Flight Attendant says:

It’s a miracle that all 115 people made it off that plane Saturday night. We have the crew to thank for that. It often goes unnoticed how hard the airline crews train for something like this. The odds are high that we won’t ever have to use our training but when we do, we’re ready. I would like to say Thank You to the Continental Crew of flight 1404 for getting all souls off that aircraft. I’m proud to say I work with you.
