Tuesday, January 20 will not only mark an historical inauguration, but should see record numbers flying into the Washington DC area. No doubt, chaos is bound to be part of those including inauguration travel in their plans. Responding to the millions who are expected to head to Washington, each of the main airports in the area have tips, and maps to help visitors navigate their way to the inauguration events for Barack Obama. Virgin America, Southwest Airlines, and AirTran Airways are not only low cost airlines, but are among the airlines to add more flights to and from the Washington DC area to meet the rise in demand for travel to the presidential inaugural activities the week of January 20, 2009. The tickets are long gone, but here are what some of the airlines did in preparation for the higher flight demand for the Inauguration -

It would be a great deal of traffic at the Washington airport when 2 million people will try to leave after inauguration
