Gift of Air Travel - Airline Gift Cards

So there is no official Black Friday with the airlines, but in terms of buying gift cards, there are a few airlines offering a little extra when you shop with them...

Airline gift cards can be a practical gift for the air traveler. This holiday season, there are several airlines selling gift cards - a few of them have the distinct advantage of no expiry date.

Gift cards can be purchased with frequent flyer miles or cash/credit card. And a few airlines are offering limited time deals for buying gift cards with them:

  • American Airlines - ... when you purchase miles between now and November 30, 2010, you'll earn a bonus for yourself -- for every 6,000 miles you purchase, you'll earn 2,000 bonus miles, up to 20,000 bonus miles! And for the month of November only, the limit of purchasing 40,000 miles per account, per calendar year has been raised to 60,000 miles.
  • AirTran Airways - ... through January 6, 2011, earn 1 A+ credit for every $100 in AirTran Airways Gift Certificates you purchase.
