Dusty delays

In Greece, sometimes winter delays have nothing to do with snow, but rather dust. This past week has seen cancellations of flights due to dust clouds that impaired visibility and left those with respiratory problems breathing a little less easy.

The dust is said to be stirred up from the Sahara desert. With clouds of dust filling the air, this environmental phenomenon is fairly common for Greece in the winter. Planning to travel to the Aegean? You may need to check the forecast for dust.
