Another Airline Goes Bust

Sunday April 6, 2008
That is three airlines in one week! Even during the turbulent times after 9/11, airlines were not dropping like flies as they seem to be now. The problem with some of the airlines that are either shutting down, or on the verge of doing so is that a lot of them are low cost airlines who don't have agreements with other airlines. This means that the number of stranded passengers is higher as everyone scrambles to make other arrangements.

A few airlines are stepping up to the plate and offering options for stranded passengers. I'll try to keep up with it all with postings in the Air Travel Forum. I know I've been writing about how every dollar increase in fuel impacts many airlines in the millions of dollars range, but it would have been hard to forecast just how quickly airlines are falling apart - with little or no notice.

So which airline is the latest victim largely of high fuel costs? Skybus. Skybus was growing a reputation for $10 flights. But now, it has shut down suddenly, leaving a lot of stranded passengers.

Skybus Airlines details.

You really do have quite poor writing skills. This could have been an interesting quick bit of info for those of us with little time to peruse the longer articles. Instead it was a jumble.
