Airfare Specials this Week

It is Memorial Day weekend in the US this weekend, and the unofficial kick off to summer for many. In Canada, it was last weekend, Victoria Day weekend that served as the unofficial start to days on the patio. This doesn't mean the airfare sales are geared to last minute holiday travel, rather the good sales are for travel dates well past the dog days of summer...

Air Tran's sale tells you to Book the Tan That Makes All Your Friends Jealous! One way airfares start at $49, and book by June 3. Sample one way airfares include - Baltimore to Las Vegas for $159. Travel dates run all the way into the beginning of November, with a few blackout dates at the end of June and the 4th of July weekend.

Looking for Great Airfares Throughout The US? American Airlines is also having an airfare sale with travel dates that continue into the beginning of November. In what harkens back to an era of roundtrip ticket purchase required, kind of like the mid 1990s, this is something you need to know about the sale - "Fares shown are one way, based on a round-trip purchase". A sample roundtrip airfare includes: Chicago-Boston at $198. Must book at least 10 days in advance.

Kayak found a pretty great deal for 13 nights in Thailand including flights/hotels/breakfast starting at $1399. Travel dates begin in the fall. Must book by June 6.

Don't forget to check the Air Travel Forum - lots of airfare specials/airline promotions are listed, as are plenty of opinions!
