Airlines react to war - Flight Schedules trimmed
Airlines alter their schedules

  • British Airways - Suspends the daily flights between London and both Kuwait and Israel.
    - Flights to Muscat are also canceled temporarily.
  • Qantas - Plans to force approximately 1,000 employees to take vacation leaves to cut costs due to the war in Iraq. The reduction in the work force may become permanent.
  • Korean Air - Canceling 29 flights on a temporary basis to the United States and Europe due to lower demand.
  • Lufthansa - Cancels all flights to and from Tel Aviv, Beirut, Amman, Kuwait and Amman on March 21, 2003. Further flight cancelations may occur.
  • KLM - Flights to Kuwait and Amman are canceled until further notice.
  • Qatar Airways - cuts a number of flights for the weeks following the onset of war because of the conflict in Iraq.
    - The launch of a new route to the UK in April will still go ahead.
    - Flights affected by the cuts involve flights to and from: New York, Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, Karachi, Colombo, the Maldives, and four flights from Singapore to Jakarta.
    - Flights within the Gulf region will also be scaled back. Specific dates for the changes have not been announced.
