Alaska Airlines does not have its headquarters in that state, rather in Seattle, Washington. Its main hub is also in Seattle, along with Anchorage.

Alaska's most recent fatal crash was in January 2000. AS261 was attempting to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles when it crashed into the Pacific Ocean claiming 88 lives on board.
