Question: How Can I Get My Frequent Flyer Miles Added to My Account?
A reader asks about frequent flyer miles, and how to get them credited to an account.
Answer: There are several ways to ensure that mileage is credited to your frequent flyer account:
- Add to file at time of booking.
- Add to file if you are checking in online.
- Inquire when you check in and have it added at check-in, or at a self service kiosk.
- If none of the above were done, ask to have it added at the gate.
- If the miles don't show up within 6 weeks of completing flights, go to the frequent flyer part of the airline's website and add the flight numbers and dates of travel.
- If you aren't signed up online, call and then fax copies of the boarding passes from your flights (so hold onto your boarding passes).
