American Airlines has a nice promo going on for AAdvantage members for the month of August. If you book by August 31, 2010 for shorter flights (less than 700 miles), you can shave off 30% of the amount of miles required for an airline ticket using your miles.

What's the Deal?
From American Airlines - "With “Short-Hop” awards, AAdvantage members can save 30 percent of their award miles when traveling on routes less than 700 miles away." So for flights on routes of 700 miles or less, the price for using miles is 8,750 miles each way, 17,500 miles roundtrip.

Applicable Routes
Flight routes up to 700 miles for travel in the United States and Canada. Flights must be on nonstop flights with American Airlines, American Eagle or American Connection.
