Travel Scams - Free Flights, Vacations and Getaway Scams and Fraud

Unfortunately there are people out there who take advantage of others out there by playing into their dreams of travel. When the catch phrase reads - Free vacation/getaway/flight - or the like, it may just be that you are being courted by rip-off artists and not legitimate agencies.

"Operation Trip Trap" has led to a list of organizations that have been targeting travelers with their rip off schemes. The Federal Trade Commission has a wealth of useful tips to protect yourself from such scam artists, and a list of some of the groups that are ripping off travelers.

Some of the tips from the Federal Trade Commission do fall in line with the idea of if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. They do however, also give you the information for lodging a complaint.
