Air India Express Flight 812 - 158 Dead, 8 Survivors - May 22, 2010

In the early morning of May 22, 2010, Air India Express flight 812 was set to land. The flight was said to have operated normally, before landing in rainy conditions and sliding off a hillside runway, erupting in flames. 8 known survivors made it out of the plane, a crash that claimed the lives of 158 people - including 6 crew and 152 passengers.

Mid-Air Collision Over the Hudson River - 9 Die in Mid-Air Collision

August 8, 2009 at approximately 12 noon, local time, a small aircraft clipped a helicopter from behind in a mid-air collision over the Hudson River. 9 people are presumed dead including 5 Italian tourists and pilot on a sightseeing tour in the helicopter, and 3 on board the plane.

Plane Crash in Indonesia - Merpati Airlines Flight 9760

A Merpati Airlines plane crashed just after 10am local time on August 2, 2009. There were no known survivors among the 13 passengers and 3 crew members on board. The weather was reported to have been clear conditions.

Aria Air - Iran - Crash Kills at Least 17 People on Board

Aria Air flight 1525 crashed killing at least 17 people on board, and at least 20 injured. 153 people were on board. The plane crashed at approximately 6:10 pm on July 24, 2009 during landing in the Iranian city of Mashhad.

Caspian Airlines Crash - Kills all 168 on Board

In the late morning of Wednesday, July 15, 2009 Caspian Airlines flight 7908 crashed killing all 168 people including 153 passengers and 15 crew members on board.

Yemenia Crash - 153 on Board, Number of Survivors Unknown

Early into June 30, 2009 a Yemeni jet with 153 people on board (142 passengers and 11 crew) crashed into the Indian Ocean as it tried to land during very poor weather on the island country of Comoros. It's been reported that rescuers were successful in rescuing a 14 year old girl from the sea.

Continental Airlines 3407 Crash Kills 50

Late on Thursday, February 12, 2009 a Continental Airlines Connection flight (operated by Colgan Air) crashed near the end of its route between Newark, New Jersey and Buffalo-Niagara. All on board, and one person on the ground died.

US Airways Crash Over Water - Water Landing in US Airways Crash

In the early morning of July 28, 2010, an Airblue flight enroute from Karachi to Pakistan's capital Islamabad was set to land. No known survivors - a crash that claimed the lives of 152 people - including 6 crew and 146 passengers.

Henan Airlines 8387 - August 24, 2010 - 42 People Die, 54 Survivors

The evening of August 24, 2010, Henan Airlines flight 8387 enroute from Harbin, Heilongjiang, China to Yichun Lindu Airport crashed after overshooting the runway on landing, erupting in flames. Several dozen survivors of the 91 passengers and 5 crew were rescued in a crash that claimed the lives of 41 people.
