Aircraft / Airline involved - One-Two-Go Airlines flight 269 crashed. The aircraft was a McDonnell Douglas MD-82.

When did the Accident Occur? - Sunday, September 16, 2007.

Description of the Accident - The aircraft crashed upon landing in Phuket, breaking apart and quickly becoming engulfed in flames. The pilots were attempting to land in heavy rain.

Number of Fatalities / Injured - Early indications show a total death toll of 88 people, with 42 survivors.

Suspected / Confirmed Cause of the Accident - Currently, it appears that weather may have been a factor as very heavy rain was reported. An investigation is under way as to whether pilot error or mechanical issues may have been involved as well.

Details about the Airline Involved - One-two-go is a low cost airline that flies to several destinations in Thailand. It is popular with Thai nationals and foreigners alike. Airports of Thailand said that 78 of the passengers on board were foreigners, which would have comprised the majority of those on board.
