There have been conflicting reports of what happened.
An airport official said that the plane's wheels caught fire during landing and it skidded off the runway, hitting a wall. This does seem possible given the extensive damage to the nose/cockpit and front part of the fuselage.
The other report is that there was no wall that was hit before the plane finally came to a stop in a local field.
There is speculation that the aircraft was landing at a high speed.
Reports also differ regarding the breakdown of the fatalities - some citing 13 of the dead as crew members, others as 3 crew members and the rest of the 19 as passengers.
