Summary - Late on Thursday, February 12, 2009 a Continental Airlines Connection flight (operated by Colgan Air) crashed near the end of its route between Newark, New Jersey and Buffalo-Niagara. All on board, and one person on the ground died.

What happened?
A few miles from the destination airport, Buffalo-Niagara, the airplane went down, crashing into a house. All 49 on board were killed, as well as one person on the ground.
What was the cause / Who is to blame?
It seems that weather may have played a part in the accident. Sleet, snow and de-icing issues may have all been factors. Ice on the windshield and wings may have been factors leading to the crash.
Any further safety issues?
It seems the de-icing was on, and other planes did land safely at the airport around the time of the incident. The NTSB is currently investigating.
