Cilantro - Cream Cheese Dip

Dip in a Small Container

A decade ago you may not have even considered bringing your own snacks on board. Now, as there are fewer options, and a lot of meal services that require you to pay on board, toting your own snacks for your flight is becoming a more popular option. No complaining about airplane food when you make and bring your own.

I try and come up with simple, flavorful recipes that I can make in less than 10 minutes and this recipe definitely fits that bill.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of flavored, whipped cream cheese (I like using herbs and spices or cracked pepper flavored)
  • 1 cup of chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup of salsa (your choice on spiciness)
  • 2 tbsp of sour cream
  • 1 tbsp of lime juice
  • 1 tsp of cumin
  • 1 tsp of salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp of minced garlic
Preparation:
I take all of the ingredients above, toss them into the food processor, and blend until smooth. Can also be done in a blender but use a slow setting.

Then divvy it up into small, resealable plastic containers and stick them in the fridge for at least half an hour to set. Done!
