Spinach Dip - Pack, Fly, and Snack

By , About.com Guide

Arlene Fleming
A decade ago you may not have even considered bringing your own snacks on board. Now, as there are fewer options, and a lot of meal services that require you to pay on board, toting your own snacks for your flight is becoming a more popular option. No complaining about airplane food when you make and bring your own.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 1 pack frozen chopped spinach
  • 1 tub light or regular sour cream (16oz or 500ml)
  • 16oz or 500ml light or regular mayonnaise
  • 1 pack cream of leek soup mix
  • 1 small can of water chestnuts (1/2 cup size or 125ml)
Preparation:
1. Thaw and drain chopped frozen spinach.
2. Drain can of water chestnuts and dice.
3. Mix tub of sour cream, mayonnaise, cream of leek soup in a large bowl.
4. Add diced water chestnuts and spinach. Mix.
5. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
6. Pack small portions of spinach dip and store in a small cooler bag to bring on flights with you.
