United Airlines - UA93

United Airlines, Flight 93 is perhaps the best known of the four flights used in the September 11 attacks. The passengers on board were aware of what had already happened and decided to attack the terrorists on board. Although they died for their efforts, the plane was diverted and crashed in a Pennsylvania field. It is believed that the intended target for this flight was the White House or the Capitol.

Brief synopsis:
United Airlines Flight 93 from Newark to San Francisco - lives lost -37 passengers, 5 flight attendants, 2 pilots.

Timeline:
UA93 was scheduled to leave Newark Liberty at 8am but was not airborne until 40 minutes later.
Several passengers decided to fight back against the terrorists on board. It is believed that this led to diverting the plane from its intended target.
There are differing accounts as to the actual time of the crash, ranging between 10:03 and 10:10am.
