Over 400 American Express travel agents were polled, and their feedback showed that there is a shift going on in travel. Thanksgiving is now outranked by the week of Christmas as the busiest travel time, and luxury travel is more popular for bookings this year than ever before.
The poll of the agents also revealed that the most popular reasons for going on that holiday instead of staying at home were topped of with children having time off from school; being able to get time off from work; to get away from it all; to see a new part of the world; and enjoying the holiday season in a new way.
