Cathay Pacific is running a massive contest with the coveted prize being 80 days of potential air travel (that could be gruelling, but maybe 40 days of the 80 could get you around the world and back). Open to US and Canadian residents.

US and Canadian legal residents only.

Contest ends March 6, 2011 for entries. The week of March 7 seems to essentially weed out entries and pick finalists, and early April for judging and awarding the prizes.
The contest essentials

  • Go to the contest's page and fill out and submit the registration form.
  • Answer the question "Where in the world would you go in 80 days?" by uploading a text description, photo, or video.
  • Wait and see if you make it to the final rounds.
The prizes
Up to 8 finalist prizes - trip to Hong Kong and to participate in the Final Interview for a shot at the grand prize. Includes airfare to Hong Kong and three nights' accommodations - must travel on April 11, 2011 and return on April 14, 2011.
One grand prize - Unlimited Economy Class travel for eighty days between June 1, 2011 and August 31, 2011, with no repeated routes.
  • Up to three nights' accommodations at each destination city chosen by the winner.
  • Travel insurance.
  • $2,400 HKD allowance per day for meals.
  • $400 HKD allowance per day for local transportation.
  • Cathay Pacific states that - Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $36,846 USD.
